Traveling By Ferry
Lembar
This is the main ferry port in Lombok and is located on the western side of the island. Ferries operating between Bali (usually Padangbai) and Lombok often arrive and depart from Lembar. This port serves as a crucial gateway for transportation between Bali and Lombok.
Bangsal
A ferry terminal located in the northwest of Lombok. It is a docking and departure point for fast and slow boats coming from Padangbai. Slow boats from Padangbai to Lembar also dock here. Additionally, a fast boat from Padangbai to Sengigi occurs once per day. There are a few fast boat companies that go from Amad to Bangsal.
- Bangsal is around a 2hr drive to LMBK; and,
- Lembar is about a 1-hour drive to LMBK.
Kayangan Port
Also known as Labuhan Kayangan, is located in East Lombok. It serves as a port for both passenger and cargo ferries, connecting Lombok with Sumbawa and other nearby islands.
Regardless of which port you are arriving at, the instructions are the same:
- Once you’re off the boat, head to the main transportation hub nearby
- Look for local transportation options, such as taxis or public transportation, to reach Kuta.
- Tell the driver you’re headed to Jl. Raya Kuta, Kuta, Lombok. The journey duration may vary based on the mode of transportation and can range from 1-2 hours
